National Life Group sponsors NAMIWalks Vermont to raise awareness of and support mental illness
NAMIWalks Vermont is NAMI Vermont’s biggest fundraising and outreach event of the year. The walk brings together hundreds of individuals who are passionate about stopping the stigma around mental health. Participants will walk down Church Street in Burlington, Vermont to demonstrate their support for all communities, families, and individuals affected by mental illness or mental health challenges.
NAMI Vermont supports, educates and advocates so that all communities, families, and individuals affected by mental illness or mental health challenges can build better lives.
NAMI and the Vermont chapter have been recipients of Share the Good, National Life’s employer donation match program. One of National Life’s core causes is to fund programs that address children’s mental health.
“NAMIWalks Vermont is a fun event that supports serious work,” NAMI Vermont Executive Director Laurie Emerson said. “NAMI’s work is about hope and recovery. We need to change the culture we live in and let people know it is okay to talk about mental health and suicide.”
