Beats for Good at National Life Group Do Good Fest 2024

Addison, TX- (October 4, 2024) Mason Moore, a 2024 graduate of Arlington High School, has won the 2024 Beats for Good high school musician contest and will open the National Life Group Do Good Fest® on Oct. 12, a family-friendly Texas country music festival at Levitt Pavilion Arlington featuring Aaron Watson, Carson Jeffrey, Catie Offerman and September Moon.

Victoria Phan, of L.D. Bell High School, and El Mariachi Tejano de Sam Houston were close first and second runners up respectively.

Moore (pictured) garnered the most votes from the public with his video of a classical rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” earning a $5,000 donation to his school’s music program, along with a $1,000 personal cash prize. First and second runners-up receive $2,500 and $1,000 respectively for their school’s music program.

With Moore joining the lineup, family and friends can enjoy five bands for a minimum donation of $5, all in support of kids’ mental health. All proceeds from a special raffle with exciting prizes also goes to Parkland.

“At National Life, we love to celebrate our local schools and the good that happens within them,” said Beth Rusnock, Head of Corporate Communications and Community Relations. “Highlighting young talent at Do Good Fest is an honor. We can’t wait to hear Mason open this incredible event!”

All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Parkland Health’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Program in support of youth mental health. Advance tickets are required. Tickets can be reserved here for a minimum donation of $5 each.

Do Good Fest was founded upon National Life’s values of Do good, Be good and Make good. This is the third year National Life will hold Do Good Fest at Levitt Pavilion, having raised over $150,000 for Parkland.

In addition to the music, Do Good Fest will also have food trucks, a full bar, an exclusive VIP lounge and a vendor marketplace. Special features include an appearance by Chaunté Lowe, a TEDx Speaker, 4-Time Olympian, Speaker/Trainer, Medalist, American Record Holder, Breast Cancer Survivor and mother of three; Ozzy’s Truck, a race truck designed to raise awareness of veteran suicide; a raffle; and Perot Museum of Nature and Science hands-on science stations.
