National Life Group VP, CISO recognized by 2025 DallasCISO ORBIE® Award

Becky Palmer National Life VP and CISO received 2025 DallasCISO ORBIE Award

Montpelier, VT - (March 5, 2025) National Life Group Vice President and Chief Information Security Office (CISO) Becky Palmer was recently recognized as a 2025 DallasCISO ORBIE® Award winner, which honors security executives who have shown exceptional leadership in strengthening business resiliency and defending against cyber threats in North Texas.

"Great CISOs recognize that the power of collaboration lies in trusted relationships," said Ronald Banks, DallasCISO Chair. “The DallasCISO ORBIE® Awards embody this by inspiring, connecting, and honoring CISOs for their leadership and the value they bring to Dallas businesses through enterprise security.”

The ORBIE is the preeminent executive recognition for C-suite leaders. Since 1998, the ORBIE Awards have recognized leadership excellence, building relationships between executives and trusted business partners, and inspiring the next generation of executives. Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer-adjudicated process led by prior ORBIE recipients based on the following criteria: leadership and management effectiveness; business protection created by enterprise security; and engagement in industry and community endeavors.

DallasCISO recognized outstanding leaders across seven categories: Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Large Corporate, Corporate, Healthcare and Leadership. Palmer received the Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $2 billion annual revenue.

“Being recognized among top cybersecurity professionals is a testament to Becky’s exceptional expertise and leadership. Her impact on her team is undeniable, and this honor reflects not just her technical excellence but also her ability to inspire and drive success,” Executive Vice President for Strategy and Chief Information Officer Nimesh Mehta said. “At National Life, our people are our secret sauce, and I couldn’t be prouder of Becky and her team for this well-deserved recognition.”

The Awards were presented at the DallasCISO ORBIE Awards at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Over 250 guests attended, representing leading North Texas organizations and their technology partners.

“Winning the Dallas CISO ORBIE award is an incredible honor for me both personally and professionally. It recognizes the hard work and dedication of my team and the support of my colleagues,” Palmer said. “This award highlights our collective efforts to enhance cybersecurity and create business value. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such a talented group of individuals and to contribute to the field of cybersecurity.”
