National Life Group appoints Kristin Cook as Chief Underwriting Officer

Montpelier, VT - (August 8, 2024) National Life Group has named Kristin Cook as the new Chief Underwriting Officer.

Cook joined National Life 20 years ago and has held positions of increasing responsibility in New Business and Underwriting, first being named Chief Underwriting Officer in 2020. In 2022, she transitioned to a leadership role in Distribution with responsibility for approximately half of the Affiliated Channel production. She is a recent graduate of the LIMRA and LOMA Strategic Leadership Experience program, in partnership with Wharton Executive Education. In her new role, all Underwriting and Life New Business Teams will report directly to Cook as National Life Group continues to expand its teams and capabilities to support our underwriting program’s future growth.

Cook succeeds Bill Whitsell, who will retire from National Life Group at the end of August after having spent almost four decades in the life insurance industry and 15 years with National Life Group.
