Montpelier, VT - (January 16, 2025) National Life Group’s philanthropic entity, the National Life Group Foundation, has increased its budget by 22%, raising the total to $2.8 million, reflecting its growth and expanding community impact.

In 2024, the Foundation announced more than $1.16 million in grants to 115 recipients as well as contributing $455,470 to matching employee gifts to 595 nonprofits through its annual Share the Good campaign. The Foundation also funds awards for two special recognition programs: the National Life Group LifeChanger of the Year and National Life Group Do Good Heroes (pictured).

LifeChanger of the Year recognizes and rewards K-12 educators and school employees across the country. Anyone can make a nomination. Do Good Heroes is a program that lets National Life Group agents recognize fire-rescue-EMS and police departments and personnel for community service activities above and beyond their public safety duty.

“National Life is on a strong and sustained growth trajectory,” said Beth Rusnock, president of the National Life Group Foundation. “As the company grows, so does the Foundation’s ability to expand its impact, enabling us to support more children in need and support those who champion and protect them.”

National Life’s focus on doing good is executed through the Foundation as well as through other corporate programs including paid volunteer hours for employees, numerous ad hoc donation events and annual benefit music festivals called Do Good Fest held both on its back lawn in Montpelier, Vermont, and at Levitt Pavillion Arlington near its Dallas office.

The Foundation awards cash grants to nonprofit organizations focused on childhood hunger, youth mental health, and community development, primarily in central and northern Vermont and the Dallas area, where National Life has offices. Eligible organizations, including 501(c)(3) public charities and schools, may apply for grants from Jan. 1 to March 31. Apply online here.
